When choosing guest artists we try to entertain and satisfy our diversity of viewers by selecting a variety of artists to accommodate different tastes.
In Noot vir Noot the artists sings a medley of songs that are specifically linked to a game. We have to use well-known songs, as our viewers need to play along. We will obviously select a medley to suit the voice of an artist.
We only use instrumentalists in exceptional cases..
Auditions for Contestants usually occur in June – August every year.
We visit: Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

This is a typical question we have to answer to many aspiring new singers who just made their first CD and are handling their own promotion.
The answer is quite simple. Please send us a copy of the CD together with some information relating to the artist. We will then listen to this and if we feel that the artist will fit in the format and spirit of the program we will request any video material of current performances or try to attend one of the artist’s concerts. Since television is a visual medium we will be looking for some “magic” in the performance.
It is a fact that there are far too many so called “very useful” artists on our list for all the available vacancies in the programs. Even well established artist, with maybe more than one CD on the market, sometimes have to wait for one or more series to pass before we can accommodate them.. Still we try to make provision to introduce at least two new singers in every series of Noot vir Noot.
Every person that sends us a CD or DVD will be acknowledged by means of an e-mail. Since we do not make use of postal letters any more it is important to provide us with an electronic mail address.
By the way, the rumour that artists have to pay us to appear on Noot vir Noot is entirely untrue. As a matter of fact, since we invite the artists to come and sing on our program, we pay them an appearance fee.

We listen to all the samples we receive but do not provide any feedback or express any public opinion about our findings unless we invite the artist to Noot vir Noot. We file and keep every document for at least five years.
