The ‘Musiekfabriek’ (Music Factory) is probably one of the most recognised bands in South Africa. With over 400 Noot vir Noot Transmissions to our name, we definitely have the record for the band with the most on-air hours, since the beginning of television in 1975.
Despite its popularity, the musiekfabriek only made its very first CD in 2006. This came after strong public request for a CD – a portable version of the musiekfabriek. The questions arose… “What will we play?, what would the public want to hear?, Is there a preferred sound or genre?” As a result of over 300 different artists having appeared on Noot vir Noot over the years, we realised that this band is associated with medleys, and therefore we chose 10 appealing medleys from recent series’ and arranged them into exciting instrumental tracks. The result is 50 typically Noot vir Noot songs which are played in typical NOOT VIR NOOT fashion..
The vast variety, which includes fast paced tempos and some soulful soft sounds, guarantees a night of boogie, a successful karaoke evening, or even just some good company for the long road. The Musiekfabriek had an awesome time recording this CD and we trust that you will have as much fun listening to it as we had recording it.

Currently: Deesdae hou hy homself uit die kwaad met frisbee en in 2004 het hy vir Suid-Afrika se gemengde span in die wêreldbeker in Finland gespeel. Hy speel vir die Johannesburgse span en het al gereeld in nasionale toernooie teen Kaapstad en Durban meegeding. Dié sport word Ultimate Frisbee genoem.
Riaan was boonop by talle bands betrokke en hy het hom in ‘n groot verskeidenheid style en genres bekwaam. Van die groepe waarin hy al gespeel het, was: Musik Ye Afrika (African Traditional), Khoi-Trans (Afro-Fusion), Kwacha (African), Naked (Pop/Rock), Interzone (Acid Jazz), Mondetta (World Music), Jungabeez (Electronic World Dance) en Mikanic (SA Pop).
Maar dis stééds nie al nie: In die Afrikaanse mark het hy saam met bekendes soos Pieter Smit, Dozi, Johan Stemmet, Rina Hugo, Laurinda Hofmeyer en Anton Goosen te toer.

Currently: Over the past number of years David has been involved in many facets of the music industry including studio sessions, theatre and live productions. More recently he’s been the drummer for SABC2’s “Strictly Come Dancing” as well as one of two drummers on “Sweepslag”. He’s been part of the “IDOLS” team for the past few years and will feature again in the upcoming season.
He’s worked with many of the country’s best known artists such as Danny K, Sibongile Mngoma, Nianel, Louise Carver, Jazz guitarist Ernie Smith, Afrikaans music icons like Mathys Roets (with whom he has recorded 2 live DVD's), Lize Beekman, Anna Davel, Chris Chameleon and Amanda Strydom.
He’s involved with a number of studio recordings and is the drummer on Hugh Masekela’s latest project.

Currently: Besides the odd gig and recording session, I head up the worship department at a wonderful church. Besides worship leading I write, arrange and transcribe music there. I am also setting up a music/arts department within the church. A solo album with a real world music flavour is also busy coming together.
Enjoy: My hobby is archery; like Johan I have an interest in astronomy. My favourite sport is Moto GP motorbikes. I grew up on a farm so nature, hiking in the mountains and the outdoors do it for me. Spending time with my wonderful family is the best, and spending time in the awesome Presence of God, well - indescribable!

I started playing the violin at the age of 10. At the age of 11 I started touring the world with various orchestras. I’ve been to many countries, including Italy, Austria, England, Zimbabwe, Swaziland.
In 2001 I was bitten by the guitar bug and in 2007, I completed my degree in music at the Tswane University of Technology.
I am a freelance bass guitarist and violinist, and I’ve been given the opportunity to perform with the likes of Ghapi, Nicholis Louw, Stefan Ludick, Jesse Clegg, to name but a few.
At the end of 2008 I took a keen interest in flying and I am currently endeavoring towards obtaining my pilots license. Although I’m extremely passionate about flying, music remains my first love.
